Cheat mode:
Note: A Dual Shock controller is required for this code. Enable the analog controls, then begin game play in any level. Press Select to pause game play. Enter the options in the pause menu. Select the "Calibrate" option and follow the directions. If done correctly, you should get the "Good!" message. Exit the level and fight Ripper Roo. Pause game play, then press Select(3). The game will freeze and exit the level. Enter the "Load Game" screen to find a file named "Crash W". Load that game. A "Cheat Menu" selection will appear in the options screen. You will start this game with 0 fruit, 999 boxes and 999 lives.

Extra Lives:
In the second warp room in front of the level "Bear It", jump on the cute little polar bear 10 times and he will give you 10 extra lives!

Boss Warp:
To go to the next or previous boss, press and hold L1, L2, R1, R2, and Triangle when standing on the middle platform of a warp room.

Hidden Warps:

1. Beardown: the small ice floe at the end of the stage

2. Aircrash: the second river, don't jet ski, but jump on the boxes to the platform

3. Unbearable: when the cub bucks you off, go back until you see him again.

4. Hangin' out: when you drop down a hole into some eel-less water go into the foreground and drop down a hole. use R1 to make crash pull up his legs.

5. Diggin' it : near the end there is a spitter plant on a circular platform. Belly flop onto it.

Return to Boss stages:
Position Crash on the center platform. Hold L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 + Triangle and press Up when Crash points up or down. Note: Only Bosses previously encountered may be revisited.

Spyro: Year Of The Dragon demo:
Press R1 + L1 and the title screen. Press Start at the opening screen. Note: This is only appears in later versions of the game.

Bonus voodoo mask:
Hold Up + Circle after losing a life until Crash moves again. Alternatively, press X(2), then hold X + Up while in a warp tunnel. Release the buttons when Crash appears to receive a voodoo mask after the next life is lost.

Faster Crash Bandicoot:
Note: A dual-shock controller is required for this trick. Press L3 and R3 rapidly and Crash will become a little bit short and faster.

Colored Gems: How to Get Them
Blue Gem:This gem is in Level 1. You must get to the end of the level WITHOUT BREAKING A SINGLE BOX.

Red Gem: This gem is located in Level 2. However, you must get to the Warp Area in Level 7, BEFORE GOING THROUGH LEVEL 6, to unlock the Secret Red Gem Path Level (you will be in the secret warp room in front of a floating portal that says, "Level 2").

Green Gem: You'll encounter this oddly-carved beauty in Level 10, and you'll need to sacrifice a life to get it. Go to the room that has a lot of Nitro Crates. Bring at least one Aku-Aku Mask with you or Crash will need more than glue to be reassembled. There is a closed door behind a low barrier of Nitro. Walk to the left of the Nitro and through the "door" to find out that it is merely an illusion. Avoid the enemies, eels, and Nitro crates guarding the Green Gem. After you get it, commit suicide and you'll end up at the last Checkpoint you hit, with the Green Gem in your dossier (that is, inventory).

Yellow Gem: This Gem is in Level 11. You will need at least two lives to get it. DO NOT HIT CHECKPOINTS OR DIE AT ALL! When you reach a certain point, a timer will appear. Get to the Bonus Platform before it reaches zero. Jump on the Bonus Platform, then fall through a pit in the bonus area. You will reappear in front of the Bonus Platform, with the timer reset. You now have that much time to get to the end of the level for the Yellow Gem. When you get the Yellow Gem, jump into the water. You will lose a life, but you will start at the beginning of the level with the Yellow Gem in your dossier.

Purple Gem: This teardrop-shaped gem is located in Level 20. Get to the part where there is a staircase that looks like it is made of Nitro Crates. Those Nitro Crates are fakes! Ascend to the top of the "staircase" and you will be transported to a Secret Area. Defeat a wave of CyberMoles and use the mushroom to jump up to the stone platform. You will see the Purple Gem to your right, floating above an Iron Crate. Get it, then fall through a pit. You will end up at the last Checkpoint you hit, with the Purple Gem in your dossier.
